The MZK hollow shaft angle sensor features absolute position measurement. It is compatible with applications requiring analog output while also supporting digital signal output. For instance, when paired with an A/D converter, it forms a highly cost-effective digital encoder, ideal for high-precision positioning and detection tasks.
The MZK angle position sensor operates on the potentiometer principle. A potentiometric angle sensor consists of a resistive element, terminals, a rotating shaft, an adapter plate, and a flange. It measures rotational position by detecting changes in resistance.
You can visualize a rotary potentiometer as a resistive track with distributed resistance values that are linearly related to the rotation angle. As the potentiometer rotates around its center, a copper wiper (or "brush") on the shaft contacts these resistance points, thereby converting the mechanical rotation into an output voltage signal. This signal varies in real-time with the rotation, allowing it to control circuit behavior or provide position feedback.
