MIRAN Technology Spring-Return Electronic Gauge for Glass Thickness Inspection

Spring-Return Electronic Linear Scale, Displacement Sensor (also known as Spring-Return Electronic Linear Scale or Spring-Reset Electronic Linear Scale) is a specialized displacement sensor typically used to measure and control the position or displacement of objects. It combines the elasticity of a spring with the measurement capabilities of an electronic ruler. When the measuring head is subjected to external force and undergoes displacement, the spring provides a reset function, enabling the measuring head to automatically return to its initial position once the external force is released.

In the glass industry, spring-return electronic gauges can be used to measure glass thickness. Typically, such gauges feature a measuring head that contacts the glass surface. As the glass panel passes through the measurement zone, the head lightly touches the surface, causing displacement proportional to the glass thickness. The spring-return electronic gauge measures this displacement and converts it into an electrical signal output, thereby achieving glass thickness measurement. Its application in measuring glass thickness primarily leverages its displacement measurement capability and automatic reset feature.

Below are its specific applications in glass thickness measurement:

I. Thickness Monitoring on Continuous Production Lines: On glass production lines, spring-return electronic gauges can be mounted beneath or alongside glass panels. As the glass passes through, the measuring head contacts the glass surface to measure its thickness. Thanks to its automatic reset function, the measuring head swiftly returns to its initial position after each measurement, preparing for the next reading. This continuous measurement ensures every glass sheet on the production line is monitored for thickness.

Ⅱ. Quality Control: Measurement results from spring-return electronic gauges serve as critical data for glass quality control. By comparing against preset thickness standards, the control system determines whether the current glass meets specifications and takes appropriate actions (e.g., adjusting production parameters or rejecting non-conforming products) to ensure product quality.

III. Automatic Production Parameter Adjustment: Integrated with automated control systems, spring-return electronic gauges monitor glass thickness in real time and automatically adjust production parameters (e.g., temperature, pressure, speed) based on measurements to ensure consistent and stable glass thickness.

IV. Production Efficiency and Flexibility: Offering fast response times, measurement accuracy, and easy integration, spring-return electronic gauges significantly enhance measurement efficiency and flexibility on production lines. Furthermore, its compact design and durability make it suitable for diverse production environments and application scenarios.

The spring-return electronic gauge maintains high precision and stability during continuous measurement due to its automatic reset function. Additionally, it integrates with automated control systems to enable real-time monitoring and adjustment of glass thickness, thereby enhancing production efficiency and product quality.
