I. Overview of GUC2500 Intrinsically Safe Magnetostrictive Displacement Sensor for Mining Applications:


The GUC2500 mining displacement sensor operates on the principle of generating a strain pulse signal when two distinct magnetic fields intersect. The time required to detect this signal is then calculated to determine the precise position. One magnetic field originates from a permanent magnet within a magnetic ring, while the other stems from excitation pulses generated by electronic components in the sensor's electronics compartment. These excitation pulses propagate along a waveguide wire made of magnetostrictive material within the sensor at the speed of sound. When intersecting the permanent magnetic field within the magnetic ring, the mechanical vibration generated in the waveguide wire due to magnetostriction creates a strain pulse. This strain pulse is rapidly detected by the sensing circuitry in the electronics compartment. By multiplying the total time elapsed from the generation of the excitation pulse to the detection of the strain pulse by a fixed sound velocity, the positional change of the magnet can be precisely calculated. This process is continuous, enabling rapid measurement of new positions whenever the magnetic ring shifts. Since the output signal is a true absolute value—not proportional or requiring further amplification—signal drift or variation is eliminated. Unlike other sensors, periodic recalibration is unnecessary.


The GUC2500 mining displacement sensor is non-contact and wear-free. It offers high resolution, high precision, high stability, high reliability, fast response time, and long operational life. The sensor requires no recalibration or periodic maintenance.

2. Clean threads; tighten with appropriate torque; ensure reliable housing grounding.
3. Maintain concentricity between magnetic ring and measuring rod without contact.
4. Wire strictly according to color codes or markings. Never reverse power polarity; ensure shield wire is grounded.
5. Test individually with power applied first. Move magnetic ring to observe output changes. After normal operation, connect to control system for data verification.
